What is ambient air?
Ambient air is the outdoor air we breathe every day. Its quality is a major issue for human health, the environment and regulatory compliance, particularly near industrial areas and sectors subject to pollutant emissions.

Composition of ambient air
Air is composed of various gases. Generally speaking, it is colourless and odourless. Its composition remains stable in the atmosphere up to an altitude of approximately 100 kilometres.
Water vapour in the air
Air also contains water vapour, the concentration of which varies depending on the temperature:
- Warm air can hold more moisture.
- Cold air holds less.
This parameter influences the thermal sensation, cloud formation, and certain pollutant dispersion phenomena.
